The testing of SmashBrackets continues this week.  There have been some ups and downs in bringing this project to life, but it looks like there is a dim light at the end of the tunnel.  I recorded a short video to get you up to speed on what’s going on.  Keep your eyes on this space for weekly blog posts, too!

In the meantime, let’s learn a little more abut the app:

Think of a bracket competition as a theme such as:

  • New releases
  • Best artist debuts of 2010
  • Discover New Blues-Rock 2018
  • Regional music (Australia, Seattle, Minneapolis, NYC, etc.)

You’ll choose your favorite out of the two tracks pitted against one another.  And there is an option to make a comment about the tracks.  Does a new song by an established band sound unlike anything they’ve ever released?  Or you discover a cover track you didn’t know existed.  It’s your chance to voice your thoughts on music that moves you.

Track what your friends are up to, see what bracket themes are upcoming, and keep posted on the leaderboard.  You can leave your suggestions for themes on the blog, social media or email.
